Where it goes further
Scuba packages and a private dive guide are only available on selected dive-focused departures, so tell us early if you want to dive rather than snorkel.
The route
Anchorages shift a little with the season, but the shape of the week holds, which is the point of a scheduled departure.
Day 1
Afternoon boarding near Bangsal or Senggigi, safety briefing and cabin check-in as we cross the strait. Sunset at sea and the first dinner on board while we run east along the Sumbawa coast.
Day 2
A morning swim and snorkel at a Sumbawa reef or sandbank, then a cruising day with time on deck and a sheltered bay to anchor in overnight.
Day 3
An early walk on Padar for the ridge views, a beach and snorkel stop at Pink Beach or a nearby coral beach, then a ranger-guided walk to see the dragons. Evening at anchor.
Day 4
Snorkelling at Manta Point or Karang Makassar when current and visibility suit, then a final lunch on board as we come into Labuan Bajo. Afternoon disembarkation.
Reverse sailings from Labuan Bajo back to Lombok normally run 5D4N because of routing and timing, and only on selected dates.
The boat
Traditional wooden phinisi upgraded for comfort and safety. We keep guest numbers low for the cabin count, which is what makes a shared boat feel like a small hotel rather than a ferry.
Honest fit
You are a couple wanting privacy in the cabin but happy to share the deck; a solo traveller after a social boat with clear standards; or two to six friends who would rather not commit to a whole hull. It also suits anyone who wants the one-way Lombok to Labuan Bajo run to line up with a flight home.
You need absolute flexibility on dates, are travelling with very young children, or want a completely private environment. In those cases a private charter is the honest answer and we will point you at it.
One thing to decide early
Some departures are leisure-led — snorkelling, beaches, a relaxed schedule — and others run as dive liveaboards with full scuba facilities. Tell us which you want and we match the vessel to the dates you need.

Your travel window and how flexible it is, the number of guests and cabin configuration, where you are staying before departure, and whether you are snorkel-only or want a dive-capable boat.
We come back with boat photos, deck plans, sample menus and a clear inclusions and exclusions list for each one.
The deposit locks the cabin and the departure date. Balance is usually due several weeks before sailing.

Book three to six months ahead for July to September and the Christmas and New Year period; one to three months is usually enough for the shoulder months of April to June and October.
Around $500 to $800 per person for a lower-deck double or twin on a standard or comfort phinisi over 4D3N. A main or upper-deck cabin on a premium boat runs $800 to $1,200 and above over four to five days.
Yes on the boats we sell here. Cabins are air-conditioned with a private en-suite, hot freshwater shower and western toilet.
Usually twelve to eighteen across six to ten cabins. We choose boats that stay under their maximum so the deck and dining areas do not feel crowded.
Labuan Bajo back to Lombok runs on selected dates and is normally 5D4N rather than 4D3N, because the routing and tides favour the longer schedule.
It is one of the better formats for it. You get a lockable cabin and a social boat with a cruise director, rather than piecing together ferries and day trips yourself.
